Carla Ford, Esq.

co-founding partner

Carla Ford recognized the significance of stressing compliance rather than suing care facilities after injury or death of loved ones from personal experience and she wanted to make a broad impact for positive change.  In 2005, Ms. Ford was a lawyer working as an Assistant United States Attorney in the U.S. Attorney's Office in Los Angeles when her mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease.  Two years later, her mother entered the first of several nursing homes where she received varying levels of care and in 2009, she passed away.

In 2010, Ms. Ford joined Walmart Stores, Inc. as a senior director on the company’s environmental compliance team, where she led a California-based team of compliance managers who kept the Fortune One's 300+ stores in compliance with state and federal environmental laws.  That experience showed Ms. Ford that effective compliance programs can prevent negative outcomes and improve the quality of services in every organization.

Ms. Ford is the general counsel for United States Veterans Initiative, a nonprofit organization that serves homeless veterans.  Ms. Ford earned her Juris Doctorate degree at Georgetown University Law Center and she has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from Boston University.  She is a member of the State Bars of California and Georgia.
